According to the statistics of State Statistics Bureau in Argentina, its volume of goods trade was USD44.57 billion from January to May in 2016, down 2.3% year-on-year (the same below). Exports grew by 0.2% to USD22.45 billion, and imports fell by 4.7% to USD22.12 billion. The trade surplus was USD0.33 billion.

In May, Argentina’s volume of goods trade grew by 0.6% to USD10.25 billion. Exports grew by 2.8% to USD5.35 billion and imports fell by 1.7% to USD4.90 billion. And the trade surplus grew by 106.1% to USD0.44 billion.

Since January to May, bilateral trade volume between Argentina and China grew by 11.5% to USD5.87 billion. Argentina’s exports to China were USD1.44 billion, down 26.3%. It accounted for 6.4% of Argentina’s overall export, down 2.3%. And Argentina’s imports from China reached USD4.43 billion, up 33.8%. It accounted for 20.0% of Argentina’s overall imports, up 5.8% over the previous year. Argentina’s trade deficit with China was USD2.98 billion, up 121.1%.

China was the third export market of Argentina and its second largest source of imports up to May in 2016.
